Our Case Studies
177 Park Road
GSH Architects were commissioned by the client to develop a residential project on a site where a vacant home currently stands. The existing property had been left unoccupied for several years, and due to significant disrepair, it was no longer viable for renovation. The structure had deteriorated to the point where it no longer met modern living standards, making refurbishment impractical.
West View
The site originally housed a large detached property situated on a generous plot. The client and her mother wanted to demolish the existing building to make way for two new detached homes. Planning permission was secured on the first submission. However, a key challenge arose because the site straddles a curve in the road, leading to visibility concerns. As a result, the site access needed to be relocated to improve safety and meet planning requirements.
15 St Thomas Street
The cottage on St Thomas Street is located within a conservation area and subject to an Article 4 direction, with a listed building nearby. Therefore, when planning a rear extension, it was crucial to develop a design that both complemented and preserved the historical significance of the surrounding area.
