GSH Architects were appointed by the client to design a residential scheme on a site currently occupied by a vacant property. The existing residential unit on the site had been empty for a number of years, and was deemed unfeasible in respect of refurbishment as it had fallen into disrepair and below the acceptable standards for modern day living.

The brief was to provide a new housing scheme which offers a mix of unit types, representative of the needs of the local community and BANES in the wider context, creating additional housing to aid the areas housing needs whilst providing a sustainable scheme that responds to its surroundings.

We started with a pre-application enquiry and meetings with BANES to determine the site layout, then a subsequent successful application was taken forward where four new houses were granted on the site.
